Abstract

In this work, the interaction potential and the capture process in the \(^{48}\)Ca + \(^{144,154}\)Sm and \(^{32}\)S + \(^{94}\)Zr reactions are theoretically investigated within the framework of the Dinuclear System (DNS) model. The nucleus-nucleus interaction potential V(R, ℓ, α₁, α₂) is calculated using the double-folding method based on Migdal's effective nucleon-nucleon interaction, along with the expression obtained from the Wong formula. The quantitative effects of static and dynamic deformations (β₂, β₃), orientation angles (α₁, α₂) of the colliding nuclei in the entrance channel, and the orbital angular momentum (L = ℓħ) on the reaction mechanism are evaluated. It is established that an increase in the collision angular momentum lowers the quasifission barrier \(B_{\text{qf}}\), thereby constraining the compound nucleus formation probability \(P_{\text{CN}}\). The calculated capture cross sections for the \(^{32}\)S + \(^{94}\)Zr reaction are in good agreement with the available experimental data in the energy range of \(E_{\text{c.m.}} \approx 70\)–\(97\) MeV. The obtained results provide a scientific basis for selecting optimal beam energies and reaction combinations in the synthesis of superheavy elements.
