Copyright & Licensing
This policy defines the terms of copyright, licensing, use, and distribution of materials published in the journal.
The journal follows the principles of open access and provides free access to published articles. Authors retain copyright to their works, and published articles are distributed under an open license.
1. General Provisions
Authors retain copyright to articles published in the journal.
Publication of an article in the journal does not require the transfer of copyright to the journal, the editorial office, or the publisher.
By submitting a manuscript to the journal, authors confirm that they hold the necessary rights to the submitted materials and have the right to grant the journal permission to publish the article and distribute the published version in accordance with this policy.
2. Publication License
Articles published in the journal are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
The CC BY 4.0 license permits the use, distribution, copying, reproduction, adaptation, and modification of the published material in any format and on any medium, provided that:
- the original author or authors are credited;
- the title of the article is indicated;
- the journal is indicated as the source of publication;
- a link to the published version of the article is provided;
- a link to the CC BY 4.0 license is provided;
- it is indicated whether changes were made to the material.
3. Authors’ Retention of Copyright
Authors retain copyright to the published article.
After publication, authors have the right to:
- use the published article in their research, educational, and professional activities;
- place the published version of the article on personal webpages, institutional repositories, research profiles, and other lawful platforms;
- distribute the article among colleagues, students, and interested persons;
- use materials from the article in future scholarly works, books, dissertations, lectures, presentations, and teaching materials, provided that the original publication in the journal is properly acknowledged;
- use the research results in further scholarly work.
In any reuse of the published article, authors must properly acknowledge the original publication in the journal.
4. Rights Granted to the Journal
Authors grant the journal the right to:
- publish the accepted article on the journal website;
- carry out editorial and technical preparation of the article for publication;
- distribute the published version of the article in accordance with the CC BY 4.0 license;
- submit article metadata to registration, abstracting, indexing, and archiving databases;
- assign a DOI to the article, where applicable;
- store, archive, and ensure the long-term availability of the published article.
Granting these rights to the journal does not constitute a transfer of copyright. Authors retain copyright to their work.
5. Use of Published Materials by Third Parties
Any person may use published articles in accordance with the terms of the CC BY 4.0 license.
Such use may include reading, downloading, copying, distributing, printing, citing, adapting, translating, storing, and other lawful use of materials, provided that the authors, source of publication, and license are properly acknowledged.
Users of published materials are responsible for properly complying with the license terms and for avoiding distortion of the meaning of the original work.
6. Third-Party Materials in the Manuscript
Authors are responsible for respecting copyright and other third-party rights when using texts, images, tables, graphs, diagrams, data, software code, and other materials in the manuscript.
If the manuscript uses materials whose rights belong to third parties, authors must:
- obtain the necessary permissions, where required;
- make sure that such materials may be used lawfully;
- properly acknowledge the source of the material;
- clearly indicate any restrictions on the use of such materials if they differ from the licensing terms of the article.
Third-party materials included in an article may not be covered by the CC BY 4.0 license if this is expressly indicated in a caption, note, or other appropriate place in the article.
7. Authors’ Responsibilities
By submitting a manuscript to the journal, authors confirm that:
- the manuscript is an original work;
- they hold the necessary rights to all materials included in the manuscript;
- the use of third-party materials does not violate copyright, licensing terms, or other rights;
- all borrowed materials are properly cited and formatted;
- all authors agree to the publication of the article under the terms of the CC BY 4.0 license;
- publication of the article does not violate the rights of other persons, organizations, or publishers.
Authors are responsible for obtaining the necessary permissions for the use of third-party materials before submission or publication of the manuscript.
8. Self-Archiving
Authors have the right to place the published version of the article on personal websites, research profile pages, institutional and subject repositories, and other lawful platforms.
When posting the article, authors must indicate the original publication in the journal, the DOI or link to the article page if available, and the terms of the CC BY 4.0 license.
The journal does not impose an embargo on authors’ posting of the published version of the article.
9. Use of the Journal Name and Published Version
When distributing, reusing, or posting a published article, users must properly indicate that the article was first published in this journal.
The journal name, logo, article layout, or other elements must not be used in a way that may create a false impression of support, endorsement, or participation by the journal in the subsequent use of the material, unless such participation has been agreed with the editorial office.
10. Changes, Adaptations, and Translations
The CC BY 4.0 license permits the creation of translations, adaptations, and other derivative materials based on the published article, provided that the license requirements are followed.
When creating a translation, adaptation, or modified version, it must be indicated that the material has been changed, translated, or adapted from the original article.
Such materials must not be presented as the official version of the article published by the journal unless they have been prepared or approved by the journal’s editorial office.
11. Corrections and Retractions
If a published article contains errors, violations of third-party rights, inaccurate information, or other issues related to copyright, licensing, or the use of materials, the editorial office may consider publishing a correction, an expression of concern, or a retraction in accordance with the journal’s policies.
Retraction of an article does not automatically mean removal of the published material from the journal website. Information about the retraction must be clearly indicated and linked to the relevant article.
12. License Notice
Information about copyright and licensing must be available on the journal website and, where possible, on the pages of published articles and in the PDF versions of articles.
13. Responsibility for Compliance with the Policy
Compliance with this policy is mandatory for authors and is taken into account by the editorial office when preparing articles for publication.
By submitting a manuscript to the journal, authors confirm that they have read the journal’s copyright and licensing terms and agree to the publication of the article in accordance with this policy.
The editorial office reserves the right to update this policy to bring it into line with developments in international scholarly publishing practice, copyright and licensing requirements, and responsible publication conduct.
